Local Competitions and State Championships
Each section competes in a maximum of 5 competitions per year, which run from July through to October. Families are asked not to book holidays during this time until competition dates are announced, which is generally by the end of May.
It is expected that all Hawthorn people display the highest level of sportsmanship at all times. The way we conduct ourselves at competitions reflects upon the Club as a whole.

Royal South Street (Ballarat)
The culmination of the year’s work is celebrated at the Royal South Street competition in Ballarat commencing in October. Eligible teams will compete at Royal South Street.
The competitions are generally held during the week at any time during the day. Ballarat is generally the final competition for the year for those who attend.
Accommodation is arranged by the College Principal and it is preferred that all families stay at the nominated motel for convenience and to provide a final opportunity for the pupils to build comradery and celebrate their achievements.
